The Retreat has a special conference season the first quarter of each year. They have an active non-denominational church on the grounds and many activities throughout the year including celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles in the fall, Men\'s and Women\'s Conferences and summer camp sessons for children and youth. There are 32 half-duplexes on the grounds and 32 condos. On the east side of the entrance to Christian Retreat is the Country Retreat Mobile Home Park.
Half-Duplexes and Condos have age restrictions where at least one owner must be 50 or older and no children can reside in the home under the age of 18 on a permanent basis. Of course, family members can visit for up to two weeks at a time. The Mobile Home Park is a family park which has an application fee and a monthly maintenance fee.
Application Fee: Condos and half-duplexes have an application fee of $50 and owners, renters and visitors staying in the unit must be approved by the Christian Retreat Home Owners Association.
Monthly Maintenance Fee: Condo owners pay a monthly fee of $285.00 which covers basic cable, water and sewer, trash removal, building maintenance, the roof, grounds maintenance excluding immediately around the homes, the guard desk and the use of Christian Retreat amenities including the pool, tennis courts, shuffleboard. Owners are billed separately for building insurance one a year and they pay their own real estate taxes, electricity, telephone, internet and content insurance which includes the build-out of the unit interior.
Monthly Maintenance Fee: Half-Duplex owners pay a monthly fee of $145.00 which covers basic cable, trash removal, grounds maintenance excluding shrubs and plants near the home, use of the Retreat amenities and the guard desk. Owners pay their own water and sewer charges, electricity, telephone, internet, building repairs and maintenance including the roof and cleaning the building exterior, realestate taxes and insurance. Owners may plant flowers around their unit but trees and various shrubs must be first approved by the CHRA board.
Country Retreat Mobile Home Park is no longer part of the Retreat properties. Owners and renters pay an application fee to the Management Company and are assessed a monthly fee which is considerably higher if the owner has not purchased a share in the CO-OP. This is a family park - one of the few in Manatee County.
