“But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. And it shall turn to you for a testimony.” Luke 21:12-13
When you make a decision to follow Christ and turn your life over to Him, ALL of your life’s experiences combined, before and after that decision, become YOUR personal testimony, which God uses for His glory and to bring others to Himself. You are to “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” (I Peter 3:15b, NIV)
You can always be “ready” to open your mouth and give testimony of what God has done for you. Jesus said it was not necessary to meditate about what exact words to use, “For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.” (Luke 21:15, NIV) Isn’t that a great promise? There is no need to fear. You can move ahead in complete faith that God will put His words in your mouth to accomplish HIS will through YOUR testimony.
Further, in Revelation 12:11, John wrote that the believers overcame Satan “by the word of their testimony….” There is power in the spoken word!
PRAY: “Father, I understand that You desire to use my testimony and my mouth to accomplish Your purposes. Please cleanse and sanctify my words by the blood of the Lamb so that my testimony is pure. Amen.”
