DEFINE THE WIN – 10 BIG THINGS for Winning in Life

  • The Bible is like a Blueprint: it ensures communication among believers who are building a foundation of faith to stand on and weather every type of life’s storms.
  • II Corinthians 1:20 (NLT) “For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!”  So through Him, the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.”
  • What are you filling your Life with? If you don’t put the BIG important things in first, they won’t fit later.

BUILD GOD FIRST (Your Foundation)

  • Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
  • If God isn’t FIRST, eventually everything else falls out of place.
  1. Relationship with God – Build your Spiritual Ark (Righteousness)
  • Mark 12:30 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (The 1st and Greatest Commandment)
  • John 14:15 (Jesus) “If you love me, keep my commandments.”
  • Noah walked with God – Noah built GOD before he built the Ark.
  • Genesis 6:5 “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (8) But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. (9) This is the account of Noah.  Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God. (22) Noah did everything just as God commanded him.”
    • Hebrews 11:7 “By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.”
    • Oswald Chambers: The remarkable thing about fearing God (Holy Fear) is that, when you fear God, you fear nothing else, whereas, if you do not fear God, you fear everything else.
  • Build Your “Spiritual Ark” – The Bible is our blueprint.
  • Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
  1. God’s Word – For Instruction, Direction, and Foundation (Practicing the Word)
    • John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
  • Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” (Instruction & Direction)
  • My Bible (Acronym) – Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth
    • Written by 40 different authors, over 2,000 yrs, in three different languages, prophecies 200-2,000 years in advance
  • Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
  • Ronald Reagan: Within the covers of one single book, the Bible, are all the answers to all the problems that face us today - if only we would read and believe.
  • Luke 6:47 “I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. (48)     He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock…” 
  • Isaiah 59:19 “When the enemy shall come in, like a flood the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard (Word) against him.”
  • Jeremiah 1:12 (God’s Promise) “I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it.”
  1. Prayer – A Lifestyle of Communication with God (Praying Always)
  • Ephesians 6:18 “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”
    • Supplication (Gr: Deesis) – strong, continued, incessant pleadings until the prayer is answered.
    • “Pray without ceasing.” (I Thess. 5:17), “Continue in prayer…”  (Col. 4:2), “Continuing instant in prayer.”  (Rom. 12:12), “Watch unto prayer.”  (I Peter 4:7), “Men ought always to pray and not to faint.”  (Luke 18:1)
  • Breath Prayers: Thank You Jesus – I Love You Jesus – I humble myself before You – I give you honor and praise.      

II Chronicles 16:9 (TLB) “The eyes of the Lord search back and forth across the whole earth, looking for people whose hearts are perfect towards Him, so that he can show his great power in helping them.”

Joshua 24:15 “Choose you this day whom ye will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
