Purpose Begins with the Designer – To know our Identity in God

  • Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
  • Your Purpose comes from the One who Designed You
  • Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art] created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
  • The Designer knows how it goes together
  • Psalm 139:16 (NLT) “You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.”
  • Moses – For 40 years he thought he was a shepherd. God saw a deliverer.
  • Your current season doesn’t define your ultimate Purpose
  • Gideon – God defined him as a “Mighty Warrior.”
  • God defines you by why He Created You

Purpose Requires Vision – To see God’s Direction

  • Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”
  • Nehemiah 1:4 “When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.”
  • Vision comes through Prayer
  • David – Everyone else saw Goliath. David saw an opportunity for God to be glorified.
  • Vision changes perspective.

Purpose Demands Action – Obedience to God’s Plan

  • James 2:17 (NIV) “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”
  • Peter could have stayed in the boat – and he would have never walked on the water.
  • Revelation 12:11 – We overcome the devil by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. (experience)
  • No Testimony without a TEST
  • Luke 4:1-14 – Jesus went into the wilderness FULL of the Holy Spirit… came out in the POWER of the Holy Spirit.
  • No Promotion without a TEST
  • Proverbs 24:16 “For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity.”
  • Proverbs 19:21 “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.”
